New York Young Men Sing
New York Young Men Sing is an annual event hosted by the Cornell University Glee Club, the men’s choir at Cornell. Knowing that it can sometimes be difficult to be a male singer in high school, we host this event to encourage male students to continue singing not only through high school, but throughout their collegiate and adult lives. This year, in honor of our 150th year anniversary, the Glee Club will be hosting two NYYMS events, one in New York City and one in Ithaca.
Attending students will meet with the Glee Club in the morning and spend the beginning of the day rehearsing together. After lunch, the students will be taught a song by The Hangovers, the a cappella subset of the Glee Club, and then rehearse more with the full Glee Club. The afternoon will culminate in a joint concert showcasing the repertoire learned that day.
New York City
The Glee Club is dedicating a full day of their Sesquicentennial Tour to work with singers from around NYC. On January 7th, students will meet with the Glee Club to rehearse at the Basilica of St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral. Our final performance will take place in the same location at 4:30 PM; family and friends are invited to join us to experience what these inspiring singers can accomplish in just a day of singing!
If you have any questions, please contact James O’Brien ‘21, Outreach Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Registration is unfortunately closed for this event.
The Glee Club is excited to host singers at our very own Cornell University where they can share in a longtime tradition of on-campus singing. Students will have a chance to see the campus and rehearse in Cornell’s main music building, Lincoln Hall. The day will end with a concert in Sage Chapel, one of the Glee Club’s favorite performance spaces.
This year’s event will be held on Saturday, February 9th. If you have any questions, please contact Jack Liufu ‘21, NYYMS Coordinator, at email@example.com.
Registration costs $30 per student, but we are also offering a flat rate of $100 per school to send an unlimited number of students. If there are financial concerns, please contact us as scholarships are available.
