Since middle school, Gabriel has had a long love affair with singing. He knew singing was the one when he joined a treble choir, where he learned to tend to this relationship in falsetto. When his voice dropped, the relationship hit a brief rough patch, but soon a switch to singing bass smoothed things over. He considered divorce when cast in a baritenor role, but ample vocal therapy has allowed his terror of this torturous tessitura to wane. He was engaged in two choirs at Cornell and voice lessons at Ithaca College, until the music department at Cornell stripped him and his peers of the privilege of singing in the Chamber Singers and left him stranded in a rambunctious TTBB choir. Gabriel also has other interests and hobbies, beyond complaining about Cornell, that are fairly generic and not worth mentioning here.
